Born Oprah Gail Winfrey, Oprah is one of the most famous TV presenters and talk show hosts of the whole times. Her show, The Oprah Winfrey Show, is considered to be the most popular, the highest rated, and the longest-running talk show of the modern American television history. Winfrey is referred to as the Queen of All Media and is repeatedly included in the list of one of the most influential and the richest black women of our times. Oprah is a known philanthropist, a political and social activist. She was born in 1954 in Kosciusko, Mississippi, to a teenage mom, and Oprah had a very rough poor childhood. She reported about being molested by her relatives, and even becoming pregnant when she was only 14. Shortly after that, young Oprah moved to her father, who managed to give her a quite good education and helped her enter Tennessee State University, where she studied telecommunication. Very soon Oprah started appearing on Nashville local radio and TV channels, which contributed to the increasing popularity of both the channels and the young presenter. She has been working on American national TV since 1977, and she started her famous talk show in 1986. It has become the most watched TV show by the beginning of the 2000s, and Oprah has become an iconic personality, in all kinds of social or political life branches. In 2008 she took parts in Democratic Party election campaign and publicly supported Barrack Obama. She is involved in plenty of other social and religious activities, including supporting churches and promoting the ideas of Christianity. She is strong enough to criticize certain governmental campaigns (in particular, she was strictly against the US involvement in Iraq), she is a big friend with plenty of important American women like Hillary Clinton, Michelle Obama, etc.
