Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is an actor and producer of Danish origin who rose to fame due to his performance in "Game of Thrones" TV series and a few cinema movies. He was born in 1970 in a small town in Denmark and grew up alongside his two elder sisters who became the best support to him after the death of their mom when Nikolaj was 18. He graduated from the Danish College of Theater and Modern Dance. In 1993 Nikolaj started appearing on the stage of Danish theaters and a year later he gained nationwide popularity for his role in a local horror movie The Nightwatch. His career outside of the Scandinavian countries began in the early 2000s when Coster-Waldau obtained a small role in a war movie of Ridley Scott, Black Hawk Down. Other notable roles of the actor include his performances in the movies My Name Is Modesty, The Headsman, Firewall (with Harrison Ford), The Baker, Oblivion (with Tom Cruise), The Other Woman, Gods of Egypt, Small Crimes, etc. However, most of the popularity Nikolaj Coster-Waldau gained as a part of Game of Thrones team where he has been taking part since 2011. He is married to a Greenlandic singer and model, who is also the mother of his two daughters.
