Mark Elliot Zuckerberg was born in White Planes in NY and grew up in a traditional Jewish family, side by side with his three sisters. His father Edward was the one who has taught Mark the basics of computer programming, and this became the main interest for the young boy. Together with his friends, he started creating simple computer games and entered a computer course in Mercy College, followed by a more serious course in Phillips Exeter Academy. In 2002 Zuckerberg entered Harvard where he immediately mastered C++, Java, Javascript, and other popular modern programming languages.

His great idea was to create a website for Harvard students to get acquainted and cooperate in their studies. That is how the long work on the Facebook website was initiated and continued with the time. In 2004, Mark dropped off the college and totally focused on his project. His parents helped him with the money for his newly registered Facebook company, and in 2005, the domain facebook.com was bought by Mark for 200 thousand dollars. In 2010, Facebook became the most visited website in the whole Internet community. Of course, it was not the only project of Zuckerberg, but the others could not manage to reach much popularity, comparing to Facebook. Due to an incredible success of the social network, Mark had to go through a few legal issues related to Facebook, connected with copyright, usage of personal information, or even some aspects related to terrorism, politics, etc. Mark Zuckerberg has been repeatedly named one of the most influential and generous people in the world since he regularly makes quite large donations to the people in need. In 2009 he married his longtime girlfriend, Priscilla Chan. In 2015 they welcomed their first daughter, Maxima, and in August 2017 their second daughter, August, came to this world. Despite being one of the richest in the world, the family lives in a quite small house and leads a very simple lifestyle.
