His mom was a ballet dancer, and both of his grandfathers were actors, thus Chris was exposed to the world of arts since his early childhood. The boy started performing on stage since his secondary school times, and his talent wasn't left unnoticed. He was lucky to meet Rowan Atkinson, who invited the young boy to his project The Nerd. When Chris was just 13 years old, his serious cinema debut took place, with the movie of Steven Spielberg, Empire of the Sun, which received a very positive response from the critics. He was considered to be one of the best child actors of those times, especially after appearing in the movie Treasure Island, where he delivered an amazing performance with the role of Jim Hawkins.
