J.Y. Park, or Park Jin-young, is a singer, songwriter, performer, entertainer, producer, and businessman from South Korea. Born in 1971 in Soul, he spent most of his later childhood in the USA where his father had got a new job. However, when Park was a teenager he had to return back to his homeland with his mum in order to continue his education and, in particular, take a few courses in music and composition. His first project that he joined as a singer was a pop trio The New Generation, and some of the songs that he had written for the group became extremely successful (like the one named "Don't Leave Me"). In 1994 Park released his first solo album titled Blue City, and later on he recorded two more really good pop albums. In the early 2000s he became a record producer in his own studio, as well as began to cooperate with some famous singers and celebrities like Will Smith and others.
