Born in 1732 in Virginia, to the family of a judicial officer, he grew up alongside his parents and didn't have any serious education except attending a local church school where he learned the basics of arithmetic, map making, etc. Later on he got interested in learning languages and the basics of jurisprudence. In the mid 1750s he started his military career as a general's assistant and then continued as a special envoy. In the 1770s he became one of the leaders of the American forces in the British Revolutionary war which resulted in signing the treaty of peace in Paris and the state becoming an independent nation.

In the 1780s Washington was among the people who took part in making and ratifying the Constitution of the USA, and in 1789 he was the first elected President of the newly established country named the USA. His main achievements were the implementation of the most important foundation policies and working in collaboration with his first rivals, the member of the cabinet Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson. His main policies as the President who served two terms were guarantees to provide a peaceful transition of power, following the rules of neutrality on an international level, etc. George Washington is considered to be the first republican who established the foundations of the office of the President and the republicanism as a political movement. He left he office in 1796 and continued as a Commander in Chief of the American Army. in 1979 he announced his retirement, and two years later he passed away as a result of a throat infection. He was buried as a military officer, at Mont Vernon.
