Steve Martin is a popular American comedian, actor, producer, musician, and writer. He was born in 1945 in Waco but raised in California, alongside his siblings. In his school times, he was interested in comedy and television, worked for Disney projects and tried to learn everything about becoming a great entertainer. In the late 1960s, he joined the writers' team for a CBS comedy series The Smothers Brother Comedy Hour, as well as doing his own stand up shows. As a stand-up comedian, during the 1970s he joined a great number of shows like The Tonight Show, The Muppet Show, Saturday Night Live, etc. His cinema career started in 1972 with a very small role in a comedy movie, but continued only in the mid 1980s, when Steve Martin appeared in a number of movies like The Man with Two Brains, Lonely Guy, Three Amigos (with Chevy Chase and Martin Short), Roxanne, The Father of the Bride, Housesitter (with Goldie Hawn), Mixed Nuts, Sgt. Bialko, Cheaper by Dozen, and certainly The Pink Panther, where Martin delivered one of his most remarkable performances. He also plays banjo and has a number of very interesting recordings, including his solo album as banjo musician. Steve Martin is the winner of an Honorary Academy Award, a Grammy Award, an Emmy Award, and a variety of comedy-related awards. He wrote a published over a dozen books, screenplays, and other writings. Steve Martin was married twice, and he is an avid art collector.
