How old is Prince?

Prince was an amazingly talented American singer, musician, songwriter, and producer. Born Prince Rogers Nelson in 1958 in Minnesota, he grew up alongside his younger sister in the family of musicians: his father was a successful jazzman. Since his early childhood Prince liked music and singing, as well as playing musical instruments which he mastered very quickly. He could play guitar, keyboard, drums, percussion, etc. He wrote his first song when he was only 7 years old, and 10 years later his first single came out, followed by his first studio album released in 1978. Prince is considered to be one of the founders of electric pop rock, funk rock and the style known as new wave. During the 1980s he released 9 studio albums and received plenty of recognition. His performances were remarkable and filled with extravagant style, unique vocals, and amazing musical pieces. During the 1990s Prince released about a dozen albums and became a symbol of rebels, revolution, new generation, and new free lifestyle. He collaborated with a large number of musicians and received many awards including 7 Grammy Awards, plenty of Billboard and other musical awards, as well as an Oscar and a Golden Globe. He continued his work during the 2000s and early 2010s by recording new singles and performing on stage for millions of his fans. In 2016 Prince died of a medication overdose, at the age of 57. He is remembered by his fans and will remain for many decades one of the most prominent musicians and singers of his times.
