John Deacon is a British musician best known as the bass player of the legendary rock band Queen, alongside Freddie Mercury, Brian May, and Roger Taylor. Born in 1951 in Leicestershire, he began playing bass as a teenager with a local group called The Opposition. In 1971, he joined Queen, where his steady playing and quiet presence became an important part of the band’s identity. Often described as the most reserved member of the group, Deacon also had a talent for innovation, famously creating the “Deacy Amp,” which became a signature tool for Brian May’s guitar sound.
